Journey 2011

Space: The final frontier
These are the voyages of the Starship, Enterprise
Its 5 year mission
To explore strange new worlds
To seek out new life and new civilizations
To boldly go where no man has gone before
Aah, it's New Years and that "Trekkie" feeling is here once again.  The time that we all begin to travel through space, (all be it small and usually held secure by ears), in order to fulfill another year's mission.  We explore strange worlds involving homes, jobs, family and self, trying to seek out new life, new civilities and to boldly go where we just... went.... last... year, (spoken in true Kirk fashion).
I'm sure Star Trek wouldn't have  become the legacy that it is today if we tuned in every week to watch our futuristic heroes battling the same redundant weight loss issues.  "Cap'n, I'm giving it all I've I got."  "Stop it, Kirk, you're killing him."  Oh, sorry, I just had a vision of Capt. Kirk all sweaty.

For those of you, like me, who are about to boldly launch The Enterprise for yet another year's worth of strange new missions, I have just this little bit of advice: mini skirts and boots are very unrealistic travel wear.

Captain 1happyhousewife's log:  2011, January 1
  1. Eat as if you will forever be wearing a mini-skirt with boots.
  2. Stay stead-fast with your already purposed mission.
  3. Love your Spock, he's your most loyal friend.
  4. Before you get in over your head-beam up. (Pray)
  5. Live every day at warp speed.
  6. Know your enemies and be prepared to fight.
  7. Never go it alone, no matter what world you are in.
Captain's log: Out

As we say good-bye to the past and strive towards the future, I feel it only "logical" to quote from Star Trek once again:

"Live long and prosper."

My last command?
 "ENGAGE."
